Councillor
Fouweather asked:
There have recently been situations
where children have not been able to find a place at their
allocated secondary school due to over subscription.
Can the cabinet member tell me how
many extra places for secondary school children are required.
Is there likely to be a new secondary
school built and has a location been identified. If so what is the
time frame?
Are the council likely to extend by
building onto current secondary schools, If so what is the time
frame?
Councillor D Davies
responded:
Councillor Fouweather should note
that many of the questions raised have broad similarities to Cllr
Matthew Evans questions and the response to Question 2025/10.
However, this additional information should support clarity on
paragraphs 3 and 4:
The council is committed to providing
an additional 700 English medium and 500 Welsh medium places within
the Sustainable Communities for Learning rolling programme. These
plans are likely to emerge from 2027 onwards but are still at an
early scoping stage.
