Can the leader tell me what enquiries have taken place with other local authorities with regards sharing resources and in particular the sharing of senior officers.

Councillor Batrouni responded:

We have a range of services shared with other Councils.  Some are short term, but many are long-term.   Current shared services and collaborations include:

•           Gwent Crematorium

•           Regional Adoption Service

•           Regional Out of Hours emergency service for children and adults

•           Waste disposal - Project Gwyrdd

•           Treatment of municipal food waste

•           Trading standards - NCC host a range of all Wales activities

•           Parking enforcement administration

•           Digital and IT – SRS

•           Internal Audit – SWAP

•           Provision of payroll services – NCC sharing with Blaenau Gwent

•           Some info services – range of LAs

Senior officers at all levels also work collaboratively with senior officers at other local authorities across a range of partnerships to discuss and develop opportunities for collaboration and sharing of resources and officers where appropriate.
