In their annual report Transport for Wales state that they have given forty-eight million in active travel grants to local authorities. 

 

Can the cabinet member confirm whether Newport has received a grant? 

 

If so how much?

 

What has the money been spent on?

 

Has all the money received been spent? 

 

 

Councillor R Howells responded:

 

Newport City Council received £2,844,379 Active Travel funding for the period. This was allocated across the following schemes and spent in full:

 

·        Devon Place Footbridge £2,289,903

·        Sorrel Drive £296,644

·        Gwasted Bridge £100,533

·        Fourteen Locks £16,905

·        Bassaleg School £41,301

·        St David’s – Tredegar Park £29,825

·        Bettws Canal Link £14,784

·        Gaer Fort and Western Links £4,444

·        Existing Route Improvements and Minor Works - £50,040

·        Behaviour Change (Burns) - £296,029
