I hear that Bistro Pierre is returning to the city centre which of course is good news. 

However, as this restaurant left the city centre some time ago I am wondering if any grants or funding has been offered to the restaurant chain either by the council or the Newport bid . Can you confirm if funding or a grant has been offered and if so, how much and whether any other businesses have been offered this kind of help to return to or to stop them leaving the City Centre? 

I can confirm that no grant funding has been awarded to Bistro Pierre to support the reopening of their business by the City Council.

All City Centre businesses (existing and new) are entitled to apply for funding which has been well publicised. There is business advice and support available from a number of organisations, not just the Council, however we have engaged Welsh ICE to enhance the advice and support we are able to provide to businesses.
