Councillor M. Evans asked:

Now that you have committed to providing free bus travel in the city, which is welcome, will you also now commit to providing the same service for those who do not have a regular one, or do not have a service at all during March?

The Leader responded:

As a result of the reduction in bus revenue associated with covid related changes in travel trends, all bus services in Wales are currently being financially supported through a Public Service Obligation contract. The terms of this contract do not permit support for additional services due to competition and procurement legislation. The free travel scheme is provided within this legal environment and cannot be utilised to support additional or new services.
