Question to the Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing : 2019/15 Glan Llyn Residents

Minutes:

Councillor Kellaway asked:

.

Dear Cabinet Member, could I draw your attention to the ongoing issues at Bridling Crescent and the derelict homes built by Persimmon at the outset of the Glan Llyn development.

Residents are still faced after 4 years with derelict homes potentially unsound and unsafe buildings, unsightly land weeds 3 feet high and ongoing concerns regarding unwelcome visitors. All this whilst management fees increase and council tax increase at a faster rate than other parts of Wales.

Residents would really appreciate support from this administration to ensure the vision set out in the original masterplan “quality in built form”.

Can you confirm what support you will be giving them so they can contribute to the shared vision that is Glan Llyn.

Councillor Mudd responded:

I am aware that you have previously raised this issue with the Planning team and that they are already engaged with both St. Modwen and Persimmon Homes on this matter.

Whilst the appearance of the site has not warranted formal intervention to date, we continue to monitor the condition of the site and will take any necessary action when required. I have asked colleagues in Public Protection to look into any issues of vermin.
