Councillor C. Evans asked:

You’ll be aware that Rogerstone Outdoor Bowls Club recently closed, citing lack of support from your administration as its main reason for closure. I am told after a long history,the Club has handed back the keys to the Council.

Could you tell me what your plans are for the property? Are the rumours true that your administration intend to sell the land for development? Would you consider letting the building and grounds to another community group who might use it to benefit neighbours in Rogerstone? Might you consider gifting the building and grounds to the Community Council in Rogerstone?

There are no plans to sell the land, although discussions regarding a potential lease to a local sports club are ongoing.
