Question to the Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure: 2019/14 - Car Parking Charges - Tredegar Park Minutes: Councillor J. Watkins asked:
In March a public notice was placed by the Council giving notice of an intention to introduce car parking charges at the site, the notice advised that members of the public could object to the plans by writing to the Council. Subsequently a group led by Louise Smith representing the Gaer Tredegar Park community hand delivered 350 letters of objection, it is estimated a further 50 to 80 letters may have been sent by Royal Mail. I am led to believe Gareth Price has forwarded these letters to the relevant Cabinet Member yourself or Cllr Debbie Harvey. Can you please confirm the Council has had receipt of these letters and how many were received? And has each letter been read and the concerns noted? I believe the size of overall objections to the plan to implement parking charges is substantial, in which case will you review the decision and retain free parking for all at this venue?
