In light of the risk of closure and the knock effect to Friars Walk can you confirm what actions you have taken to supporting Debenhams over the last 12 months.

Councillor Jane Mudd (Cabinet  Member for  Regeneration and Housing) responded:

The Council has not received any advice to date that the Newport store would be affected by the recent news of closures, however, I have asked officers to continue to liaise with the owners of Friars Walk and to monitor the situation.
